Republic of Loose is the best band EVer....

Thursday began our last weekend here in Ireland, as next weekend we will be in Prague and the following one in Italy...and then...duh duh duh... the US
We spent the nite at our FAVORITE bar, Whelans, this time though there was closure... great tunes, nots of dancing. In fact I have a vivid memory of hearing that song that goes like "we are young...we are free..." the very first time we went there, our first Friday in Dublin and they played that song at our last time there...rather fitting i believe.
Friday we were awoken abruptly to find out that Republic of Loose would be putting on a free show from a pantoon on the River Liffey. We had about an hour to make it there, which in Dublin is no small feat... but we made it and had excellent seats. The lead singer is amazing, what a stage presence. not to mention the other members. It started raining mid performance, i couldnt care less that i was soaking wet. Definitly the best way to spend a friday afternoon. You should check them out http://Republicofloose.com
Following the show,we went to a few photo galleries around Temple Bar area...one of the exhibitions was super interesting...it was called the Ruins of American Cities. The photographer would capture the same area over spans of like 20 years and watch it fall apart. There was one series that was particularly interesting, it was in Harlem and it showed 2 store fronts and their progression from i think the 70s until now. About every 2 years the stores would change and eventually now htey are just one big matress store.... hahaha.
After the photos we had our very last Mexican Friday. Back at the original spot Acapulco....on Dame Street...mmmm... soo good.
Then we headed home... and began our last friday nite in Dublin. We started off at Bruxelles...great craic...just brilliant and then we attempted to head to the Gaiety a club that is open until about 4 but it didnt work out, so we headed across the street to Sutton's Bar, which in fact did work out and turned out to be a blast. Great nite...
