Fourth of July in Dublin

Our 4th of July had a definite bad start but ended up being quite lovely.
First after work we headed to TGI Fridays (on Hartford St.) for a special cocktail. Turns out they give 10% discounts to Americans on our special day. Too bad we werent planning to eat there. Also made the discovery that they have colby cheese at TGI...o colby how i have missed you. After one pricey cocktail we headed home.
Picked up an "American Style" Hot Dog from the spar..drank some cans of Budwieser and got all decked out with crown and glowys then we headed back to city center.
The first pub we went to was Sine (right off the liffey, they refused to serve us bc of our crowns so we peaced out. The bartender found our crowns offensive. When questioned further his reply was to point to a picture of the soldier who murdered and raped people in Iraq. Like as if that was what we were celebrating. Luckily one of the girls on our trip knows the owner and will be making a complaint...
After that upsetting incident we went to Dame Tavern off dane street. After there we went to grafton...where we ran into another huge group of MSU study abroaders very odd. We tried to go to Captain Americas but they were closed, so we went to Bruxelle's. Good bit of craic there. We managed to come across one sparkler..it was amazing... all and all it was a pretty satisfactory fourth.
Today was the graduation ceremony for one family adult education programme participants. It was at Dublin Castle...real nice place. The ceremony was good. I actually really enjoyed seeing the people who are involved with the charity. Made me feel like my work was mattering to someone...may motivate me to actually put more effort into my tasks. Grand.
Alright just about time to leave work...its a beautiful day outside. Very exciting. Prolly in the mid-seventies with a bit of sun. Peace!!
